Emily's State Meet

Emily did go to her State meet and she did an awesome job.  You can see a little bit of scared in that first photo.  She was there with 3 of her best buddies.  She didn't place, but she did her very best.  She had so much fun.  She was very proud of herself, and so were her "fans".  We love you Emily and are so proud of you!  Great job at your first ever State Meet.

Loving life with the fabulous 5

We were working on Christmas pictures, and we got some serious fun.  The water was really warm.  The kids had lots of laughs, and no, Claire and Quinn did not throw Shaelee in the water.  I love the bond between all the kids.  Love that Claire and Quinn are so close. A year ago, Quinn was 6 inches shorter than Claire.  He is taller now.  They grow up so fast.  Everyday, I think how lucky  I am to be their Mama.

Peeling an Onion

Um, too funny.  We make most of our meals on Sunday.  I asked for a little help here.  Needed a few onions diced.  I love that they are so creative.  Those goggles are way cool, and there were zero tears peeling the onions at the C house.

Our little Champion Emily

Emily and the girls made a weekend of a very special gymnastics meet in Orange County.  Claire is a gym sister these days, and she now understands how nerve wracking it is to watch (as opposed to actually doing).  We watched with gritted teeth, and sometimes through half closed eyes, just hoping that there would be no falls.  Emily didn't disappoint, she was able to achieve her personal best.  The thing about personal best moments, is that you can see the possibilities for the future.  Claire and I were thrilled that she was able to come up with a 9.0 and a 9.1 on bars and beam.  The girls weren't supposed to look at their scores this meet, but I am pretty sure that she peaked.  Her grins kind of said it all.  After it was all over, she told me that she was really proud of herself.  So were here 2 sisters and her Mama.  Congratulations Emily, we look forward to your State meet.  For this gym Mama, it has never been about "winning", it's always been about having fun.  And I can definitely say, that Emily had a lot of fun.  Claire, Shaelee and I were happy to come along for the ride.

Happy Birthday Shaelee

Happy 8th Birthday precious girl.  4 years ago we were on a plane to finally meet you.  I am not sure how 4 years went by so quickly, but we are so blessed to be your family.  You are my sunshine little girl, and such a sweet sister and daughter.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Wishing my Daddy, yes you Dad, the best 85th birthday ever.  My Dad rocks.  I never knew what I couldn't do, because he believed that his kids could do anything.  He has always been an inspiration and an amazing mentor.  We all met at Uncle Chris and Aunt Kim's house to celebrate. The kids worked hard to help Kim decorate.  Special friends came from IL, CA, FL, MD and TN.  We got to hang with Auntie, Elizabeth and Sam. Bethany, love you girl, my birthday buddy born many years later and on the same day.  You are so special.  We had a great time celebrating.
And yes, "I can do everything through him who gives me strength".  I snapped this pic on Aunt Kim's dresser.  But I will save this blessing for another post.
For now, celebrating the most amazing 85 year old on earth.  Love you Daddy.

A Very Special Wedding

What a perfect morning in AZ.  We were able to celebrate the wedding of Katrina and Thaddeus.  We spent a spectacular day with friends and family.  The twins are so beautiful.  All of the C's had a wonderful time.  The night before, Shaelee decided that she had to have curls.  Claire and I had to stop on the way to get lots of rollers for the little girl's hair.  But they looked (in my humble opinion) absolutely precious.  Katrina is the daughter of my oldest and dearest friend.  I remember when she was born.  I hope my children find soul mates like Katrina found hers.  What a special day of celebration.
