Hanging Up Her Leos

It was a hard day for my big girl. Her Gym has closed and Claire is so sad. She has tried the new gym, but doesn't want to move forward with it. She has a sad and broken heart. She loves her Coach of 11 years, and it was so hard to say goodbye. But today she made a very painful decision to move on. It breaks a Mama's heart to see her child so sad. Claire is trying out for her school dance team next week, and walked into a dance school today to try something new. Tears streamed down both of our faces. We went to Star*ucks and had a heart to heart. She is making the right decision for herself. Thank you Grandpa for your kind letter, let me quote it... "what is happening to you is part of life. The things we want do not often turn out the way we plan, but from my experience, I have found that things always and frequently are better than what we were dreaming of. I think God has an influence over our lives and leads us in the way we should go. There will be ups and downs in life. So, now that the old gym door has closed, have faith that a new door will open. Maybe one that you never thought possible. Just keep doing the best that you can wherever you school or in work. Things will end up fine. Keep a smile on that pretty face and encourage Emily and Shaelani." Thank you Grandpa, for the most amazing advice. Love you Claire....and proud, that you are making your first very big life decision.

That is the sweetest letter.. What a gift to have from her very wise Grandpa.... I am so sorry her gym has closed! But, I do believe God has something exciting around the corner... The dance team would be so fun for her Sr. Year!!!! And, if it is not that, it will be something else wonderful!!!!!

Blessings to you Claire! You are SPECIAL!!!

Claire, I have always told you how much I loved your floor exercise. You were so graceful and beautiful evey time I saw you perform that exercise. I think you will enjoy dance and be good at it.

Sometimes, life gets tough, especially when we have to make big decisons. You know how much we love you and how much faith we have in you.

So, awesome girl, my prayer is that you won't miss a beat moving from gymnastics to dance. Hang in there. You are in my prayers.

Love you lots,

Claire - I remember so well from the first time we met you in Guangzhou how you were so happy in your physical strength, flexibility and creativity that you expressed through gymnastics. You were hanging from bars in the playground, doing somersaults, handstands, etc. It was a joy to watch you do your thing. So my first reaction to this post was sadness about the loss of that outlet for your joyful expression. But then I also remembered that a lot of the time that you were doing cartwheels, etc., you were doing them to make Shaelee smile or picking her up and swinging her around like a bell to make her laugh. And I know how you have encouraged, supported and kept Emily and Shaelee's hair looking so good as they pursued gymnastics. So please realize that it is your kind and generous heart that is your biggest asset and while for a long time that found expression through gymnastics - it will now find expression through something else - maybe the dance team or something that you don't even imagine yet. But I know that you will find another joyful expression of your kind heart. Love Maggie K
