Tomorrow Mom, Emily and Shaelee are on the 6:30am flight to St Louis! It's been a crazy few days trying to get us ready, but we did it! Claire was the biggest help ever. We are off to visit Grandparents, and introducing Ms Shaelee, and surprising them with Emily. Emily gets to go to school with Aunt Carrie for a day while Mom and Shaelee make a quick trip North for a play date with her best buddy from Hunan. Shaelee and Mom are so excited to see/meet her oldest friend and her new family. It's going to be a great week, I just know it (:

It's a Saturday night at our house. Quinn and Mom are smitten with "Caprica", and everyone else is camped out in the Family Room.
Claire likes to keep her room really clean, so her answer is a sleepover on the floor with bedding from the little girl's room. Outside it smells like orange blossoms. The kid's cut a bunch of them, and we made quite the bouquet on the table. Smells like Heaven. BTW, Shaelee got her first trim today. Check out the cutie pie haircut (:

Last night was Emily's 1st grade musical performance. She was dressed beautifully in her pink cowgirl shirt and light up boots. She was a true Southwest Cowgirl! She asked me on the way to school, "Mama, are you excited to see me sing on stage?" That would be a big Cowgirl mommy YES! She did a great job!!!

In our house we love Tinkerbell, Fairy Princesses, Ballerinas and very special friends like Connie. Thinking of you!

We spent a few days at our cabin. Not much snow left, but the kids managed to make a snowman anyway. It was a beautiful weekend. We stopped on the way home to capture some pictures of the beautiful Desert landscape. We have had so much rain, that everything is green. Everyone is back to school and back to work tomorrow.

The kids are off for Spring Break, and Mom is trying to carve out some time to play. Dad is taking tomorrow off to go to our cabin. Not sure why, it's going to be very cold there, and it is absolutely beautiful here. Claire went to see Alice in Wonderland with her gym friends, and the 4 smallest of us went to the Y for a quick swim. This was the first time that Shaelee actually willingly went into a pool. She started out tentative, but it didn't take her long to understand how much fun a pool could be. This one isn't very deep, 4 feet at it's highest, but perfect for just having a great time. Of course, Mom forgot a change of clothes and Shaelee insisted that she join in the family fun. Anyway, one last night with Mike, Priscilla and Erika before they fly home.

We had a fabulous few days. We were able to see dear and forever friends this weekend. John and Linda came for the day with 2 of their 5 kids. We haven't seen them in a while, so it was great to catch up, and just hang out. Priscilla and Mike are here for the week with Erika. Saturday we also did Ikea, and are redoing the little girl's room, again. (The kids are trying to organize that room as I write this, good luck with that one) Today we went to the zoo. The kids got to blow off some steam and had a pretty good time as well. I am thankful for friends who have been a part of lives since we were just kids in High School. It was great to see you all.

We are so happy that tomorrow Sienna will be coming home on an expedited Visa. We continue to keep our new friends in our thoughts. Last Saturday, all of our kids decided to put together a welcome banner for Sienna. They created quite the work of art. We asked our Hunan family here in Gilbert, Lexi's parents and family to be a part of the "Welcome" brigade. This special family was with us in Hunan and has been watching Sienna's story unfold with us. Such a blessing.
Last Saturday, we met at our Church picnic and took the final picture. From Gilbert and Hunan with love....Welcome Home Sienna Grace, D, J and the Pearl...

No words can describe our concern for Sienna. She was given 7 shots on Saturday, and her fever spiked to 105 yesterday. We love this little girl, Shaelee's best buddy. Tonight was the long awaited Skype that could not happen. We hope you will offer prayers and happy thoughts for Sienna. This precious girl needs to come home.
I should have posted this last weekend. Claire is now competing at her new level, and we are so proud of her. Her injuries last spring have kept her out of competition until this spring. She is the most graceful young lady (so unlike her mother), and she looks beautiful when she is on the floor. She placed 7th overall last weekend. She was none too thrilled that the entire family was there cheering her on. But oh well, at least she knows we are her biggest fans!
Love you Gym Girl!

Claire and I volunteered at Viny's school today. Claire said the hour exhausted her. Mom had a blast, but I didn't have to lift kids onto the slide like oldest DD. Anyway, we took all the kids a few hours later, and they had so much fun. We won the "greeting card basket", the bonus was that hidden with all of the cards was a sitting for a photography gallery, hope they will take all 5 kids!
Tomorrow, I need to post last weekends pictures of Claire's gymnastics meet.

As always, I will refer you to the travel site for "First a Pearl and then a Ruby" website. No words can describe our thoughts as we saw the day unfold for our new friends and their beautiful new daughter. Sienna is now safely with her new family. Shaelee is very aware of what is happening. I thought I would share Ms Shaelee's first reaction to the travel website as she saw most of these pictures for the very first time. We sent these pictures off to China so that Shaelee can say "Hi" to her best buddy.
